Seems to me that a few years ago I read of a aftermarket intake manifold dyno test session on 5.0 EFI engine somewhere. Does anyone else recall that test and the results? I am interested in which box stock aftermarket intake gave the greatest improvement on a stock or near stock 5.0 HO engine. I personally have only used FoMoCo GT 40 stuff and one Edelbrock performer. I was not impressed with either over a stock intake. The GT 40 did very well when used with some other heads and more aggressive cam timing. The performer showed nothing at all over stock as I recall. Perhaps you're thinking of "Intake Power: Sorting through the streetable intakes on Anderson Ford's Dynojet". It's the one with Rick Anderson standing next to a stack of EFI intakes (they used the same shot in a similar supercharged intake comparison). You can download it here: http://www.andersonfordmotorsport.com/ click on "Media Articles" at the top search for the title IIRC, they did test the GT40P Explorer intake, as well as GT40 and Cobra. There are several other intake comparison articles on that page. Also, I think Holdener's 5.0L dyno book has some tests. Dan Jones

Alex, find and click on "media articles" at very top of page. Then find September '95 on left side of page. Article is called Manifold Destiny. Charlie

Thank you. Surprised that they did not test the TFS unit.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." I wonder if anyone has done any comparison testing with the TFS?------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." I just went back and looked at that Super Ford February 2000 article (on Anderson's website it's referred to as "Intake the Power...Sorting through the Streetable 5.0 Intakes on AFM's DynoJet") and they did test both the TFS Street Heat and Track Heat intakes. I know Anderson also tested the TFS box upper as well in a later test.Dan Jones
