I have an AOD with a 2500 stall converter, when it shifts from 1st to 2nd i have a very strong "shudder" or shake. It also does it from 2nd to 3rd on occasion. Took the car to the trans place, told me, its not the trans, and they had no clue what it could be. Someone mentioned it might be a bad converter, any clues?

Thanks,
Steve

Is it a lock up converter?
What type of fluid are you using?

Just an update, its was the trans and the torque converter. The converter was 1/4 to short causing a grinding on the input shaft of the trans and the welds on the converter mounts were welded on crooked. Which caused an unbalance. The trans was appeared to be done in someones garage that had no idea what they were doing. I now have the new trans and a new 3000 stall conveter, the car runs much better, thanks for the help. Will update with some new track times as soon as i get it out.

Thanks again,
Steve
