My 89Gt had a 5 Speed Trans I'm switching to a C-4 Trans how do I hook up the Neutral Safty Switch? I already took off the pedal and all the 5 speed stuff at the harness under the dash, So how do I complete the circuit from the Ign.switch all the way to the Starter Solinoid?

I believe the neutral safety switch is located in the shifter for the auto trans, or down on the trans itself. Do you have the computer and wiring harness from a donor car? The auto computer and harness are different from the 5 speed.

true....if you're going to change the engine/trans on a newer car, you have to get the 'puter from the donor car....ALSO....so you'll be able to buy parts in the future.....PLEASE (speaking as a Ford dealer parts counterman) get the calibration code off the right door or right door jam of the DONOR car...write it down and put it in the glove box....and TELL the parts person that the engine has been changed ....the calibration code will look like: 9-22A-R0 or something like that....

I'm using a c-4 from the 70's so no computer!there was a switch on the clutch pedal...I disconnected it to remove the clutch pedal, the 5speed wiring is still there but with out the switch on the connector... do I run my wiring from connector or do I jummer the connector and use the 5speed wiring and hook up the neutral safty switch on the trans? with all the fox's out there I was hoping someone made this same kinda swap!
