is there a special tool to remove the pb cable from the rear brake drum housing?? looks like just a little round clip thing that is just pushed in at the factory and locks there. i gotta get them out without destroying them. thanks

all u should have to do is just pull the rear drums off and take the brakes apart when u put them back together just leave the parking break disconnected i had to do that with mine because my own stupidity i pulled the e brake and it engaged and the cable snapped and i was 8 miles from home.

lets just say i had 2 do brakes that weekend on my 1990 gt

but wes, we are changing out the whole rear end housing and need to get the cable out of the old one and put it back into the new one!!

What I do is put a small hose clamp (fuel line size)over the barbs of the park brake cable,& tighten the clamp enough to compress the barbs so they will fit thru the hole in the backing plate.
