Hi all, just found this site after a "google" search and am enjoying the reading. Now to the bones of the issue. I just bought a 1988 LX for what I thought was a good price, had the convertible top replaced and am now ready to address the engine.

The car has 160k on it but the 2.3 runs pretty good yet, starts hard, but otherwise runs good.

Is it possible to just swap in a 5.0 engine? I am wanting to go for the older engine of the non computerized variety.

Any other issues besides the obvious tranny and rear end?

Thanks in advance for any advice and knowledge all may impart.

Just curious why you'd want to go carbed in an 88? Theres a lot of potential with those 5.0 HO's.
This site right here:

Gives an excellent rundown.

Sure you can.
All the parts are avialable from a wrecking yard or aftermarket.
Automatic is the easiest.
