I've got an '87 with the premium sound 6 speaker package. When I installed a CD player, none of the harness adapters were correct. I don't recall the details but I was able to make one work with some cutting and splicing. I used the factory wiring diagram to trace the wires. Dan Jones

I have a '91 with and aftermarket stereo/CD. The factory radios use a floating ground so there are 6 speaker wires and only one ground wire in the harness plug. Your aftermarket uses two wires (+/-) per speaker. What I wound up doing was running new wires to the speakers and leaving the factory harness intact. It turns out that you only need to run wires to the dash speakers and the rear ones. The door speakers will work. You can use the adapter plug for your power supplies so you don't have to cut anything.------------------ '73 Convertible, 351C 2V '91 LX Convertible 5.0 Member: Valley Forge Mustang Club "Tank, I need an exit." I guess I should be able to run a ground for the dash and rear speakers but right now I have no speaker output at all. It is a brand new kenwood head unit I think I will hook a couple speaker to the outputs (just slave them in first) to check for operation. Decided to run new speaker wires to all the speakers. Then its easier to replace them later.------------------ 67 Mustang F/B 302 GT-40X FMS engine RPM Air Gap 650 BG CLAW Edelbrock 100 shot N2O Crane 1.7 rollers ceramic coated headers T5, cable clutch Flows X Pipe 3.89 9". You should be able to buy a Kit with the Correct harnesses. Simply plug them into the same connections on your radio. I just did this on my 92 LX 5.0 with the Premium Sound and Factory EQ. Just make sure you get the right harness. Schloske is the one I used you dont have to rewire any speaker wires. You will have a part that Bypasses the factory amp under the passenger seat.
