white smoke is burning water, any car will do this as the water is cleared out of the muffles but once it gets warm it should stop. if does it all the time you might gave a blown head gasket, cracked head, or block. check the radiator for oil and bubbles, check oil for water. it will look milkie if mixed.

You have both left and right sensors reading lean. This probably means you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Unmetered air is getting in somewhere and the computer is trying to richen up the mixture as far as it can go, but the O2 sensors are still seeing a lean condition.------------------ '73 Convertible, 351C 2V '91 LX Convertible 5.0 Member: Valley Forge Mustang Club "Tank, I need an exit." it smokes when it starts up but when it warms up it stops. But everyonce in a while it wants to back fire and it has great compression. 150 psi. in every cylinder. if air is leaking in or out of the upper intake manifold gasket will that cause my problem. please help

I suspect that the smoke on start-up is s seperate problem. You have a vacuum leak somewhere which is causing the "lean" condition trouble code. I had the exact same problem with my Explorer. It turned out to be the gasket between the intake manifold and the fuel rail. ------------------ '73 Convertible, 351C 2V '91 LX Convertible 5.0 Member: Valley Forge Mustang Club "Tank, I need an exit."
