Need experience of those who have tried to stuff the largest tire on a fox mustang. I have an 82 mustang and I'm using 14" 88' Thunderbird wheels. Any suggestions on tire size? Currently, has 205-75-14 all the way around and the rears are way to skinny. The need to be beefed up!!

i run a 28x10.5 wide slick on my 81. that took some massaging on the inner and outer fenderwells. i had to gently roll the outer fenderwells with a BFH!!! the closest part is up top on the inside. there aint much you can do there because the frame is there. i run a 10in wheel with 5 1/2 in backspacing. good luck

Thanks you have been very helpful. Looks like I should go to a 15" wheel to get my desired look.

I have fit everything from:
-245/50/16 on ponies
-26/11.5X16 ET Streets on ponies
-275/60X15 Hoosier Quicktimes on 10 holes
-275/60X15 Street tires on Weld draglights
-205/60X14 Street tires with original hubcaps

You have lots of room depending on quad shocks(and they will fit if they are flipped around)!

A buddy of mine runs 325/50/15 BFG Drag radials under the rear quarters of his 89 coupe.I think he is using a 10 inch rim, with a 5.5 backspace, and liberal use of said BFH to "massage" the inner wheelwell and outer lip.
