I'm looking for a trans for my 92.
How do i find out which trans will fit this car? It's only a 4 popper. Someone told me its a A4OD Trans? I do beleive it has something to do with electronics. Some help really needed as you can see. What other info do you need?

Thanks GTRocks,
The engine is a 2.3.
I was told it my be an A4LD trans in it. When I did a search on this model it talked mostly about the "Ford Rangers" being fitted with the A4LD. No mention of any Mustangs using them. I have a chance of getting a A4LD from a yard for around 250.00. Once I pick up the trans I have 7 days to show the bill for gaskets, seal, and fluid to start my warrenty.Any more help.
Again Thanks LiLoMe

The 2.3 auto trans is an A4LD....but you have to be careful with what you are getting the donor trans out of, as the truck A4ld's switched to a tailshaft housing without a speedo cable opening somewhere around 1991-1993...along with the shifter bracket differences between the truck and car A4LD's.
Additionally, the A4LD does not have that much in the way of electronics....
If it were my car, I would toss a T5 5-speed into it, lol. The A4LD makes a 2.3 Mustang almost crminally slow...
