Well after we got the 302 runnin, we are having problems with it over heating. Now I've heard that if you take off the radiator cap and see the antifreeze kinda foamie that you would have a blown head gasket. While I hope that's not true, I'm kinda scratchin my head on this.

Re: bbjay351

You didn't realy provide a bunch of information? I would like to help but I really don't wish to offer suggestions that are not correct.

Foamy stuff in the Rad can be anything like someone caught the anti-freez and got engine oil in it. Now they put that back in the rad? I know of a sure way to tell if the head gasket is leaking. Check around and find a tune up shop with a 4 gas analizer. Put the analizer gas tube close to the rad cap openining with the cap removed. If your get a HC reading, um like 20 you done. The head gaskets are leaking. Now then...

Did you tear the engine apart? If so how did you place the head gaskets?

Well enough for now..

Les

well, we didn't tear into the heads during rebuild. just replace bearings and had the crank turned. That's about all we did to it. No leaky hoses or intake, but we are definately loosing coolant somewhere....
