o.k. guys i am wondering what i need to do to get my 90 lx convertible in the mid 12's.
right now i am looking at getting 4:10's and a valve body from j. pacquet (spelling).
would the novi 1000 do it? this is a stock engine and i dont want to use nitrous. i will listen to all suggestions, i believe there are many knowledgeable people on here. i dont post much but i read this site every day. so what do you guys think. also i need to stay emissions legal, right now before i test i put the cats back on. one more thing headers short or long? this is a street car.

HCI swap.
Heads
Cam
Intake
Along with a nice set of gears you should see the Mid 12s with no problems. Make sure everything is matched well. I hope you have a roll bar because if you run faster than 14.00 you need one at a track.

Hi,
I don't wish to discourage you but the flex in the vert is terrible. Put a jack under a front frame rail and pump away you'll get 20 inches of flex.

Save your $. Work the suspention. Replacement K-member, welded frame connectors, replacement control arms, 90-10 struts w/ coil over conversion. Rear roll/sway bar. You can use the stock rear control arms but I'm ditching mine. The torque boxes take a beating so it's best to weld them up.

Pinion angle plays an important role in launching the car. I'll give you a few links.

As far as the engine, I'd look into heads and leave all else alone for now.

You can look at my page in my sig line below and see what I'm up to.

Post a pic of your car, like to see it!

Les

I totally agree with Les. On my 92 Feature Vert I already have those suspension mods he has stated and it feels like a totally different car. If your car does not have full length Sub Frame Connectors BUY them first. It will make it handle much better and you will definitely notice a huge difference in the ride. You could also use a good strut tower brace to start.

well for starters, i would get a set of flowtech headers 1 5/8 primaries 3 inch collectors, force 2 cat-back system, bbk underdrive kit, roller cam 220/220 duration 498 lift and it is emissions legal/get the matching roller rockers to..last but not least get an edelbrock performer intake, they clam on a stock 302 such as yers gains of about 40hp w/o sacraficing trq.i would leave the stock heads for now,all this you should gain appr. 75/80 hp. oh i forgot, bbk has a set of subframe connectors..you will need them..i believe there about 100$ hope this helps
