Ok, I'm getting tired of taking door panels off. First the passenger side actuator went bad on the door locks, so I bought a pair of actuators off of e-bay (stole 'em). Lucky for me cuz a month after I did the passenger side, the driver side died. I just replaced that one, and now the switch on the passenger side window won't work. I haven't really trouble shot it yet, but the window will go up and down with the driver side switch. Could be the lock switch on the driver side sticking? Could be the passenger side switch? Could be a fuse? Could be a loose wire? What's most likely? Anyone? Bueler? Bueler?

Sounds you have a bad switch, in my car the passenger window would go down but it would not go up, I had to roll it up from the drivers side. I replace the switch and it works like new. Try getting new switches.Steve

No. I bought a new switch at Carlisle, but it didn't fix it. I have to find the time to troubleshoot the power/ground. I must have a bad connection somewhere. I read the shop manual that says the fuse for it is on the starter. Anyway, both windows operate off of the same fuse, so that's not it. No luck yet.... Steve, did you replace just the window switch (but not the lock switch), or from the electrical connectors up? I bought from the electrical connectors up, but the length of the connectors to the switches from the model year I bought are much shorter that mine. I'm not sure I'll be able to use the whole assembly without splicing wires. I pryed the switch itself off and swapped that off. No luck. [This message has been edited by GTRocks (edited 06-12-2004).]

Finally fixed my power window! Was a broken wire in the harness from the Drivers door, where it flexs. Was the ground for the passenger switch. Black wire was completly apart while another had a gap of about 3/8" where the insulation had pulled apart. Worst part was getting the ends of the grommets for the rubber boot over the connecter and back into the door & body. ------------------ Fred 68 Mustang 500CID/Powerglide - "No Tubs" 86 Mustang GT Cobra

Mine was dead from both switches. Got a wiring diagram and started tracing - I hate electricity! Found if I jumpered the passenger switch to ground that it would work. Then chased the ground wire to the drivers door and found the bust wire. You're best to find a schematic - I have one for a 92 that I could scan/Email to you - and see where you loose the voltage. Yours might be the switch.------------------ Fred 68 Mustang 500CID/Powerglide - "No Tubs" 86 Mustang GT Cobra
