This time I actually mean my '86. It shifts into 3rd and overdrive way to early(unless you have your foot in it)--Fluid and filter change didn't help it. Sound like a valve body problem? I haven't found a vacuum leak anywhere.

yeah he is talking about the tv cable that goes to the throttle body. if it is not adjusted just right, your tranny could last maybe 5 miles then you have big problems. tv stands for throttle valve and i don't know how to adjust. that my be one of the reasons mine in the tbird all of a suddun gave up first gear.
