I need help in choosing a gear for my car. I just did the 5-lug conversion on my 92 coupe. I am running the pro star rims with 275/60 BFG's with a 3.73 gear. With the bigger tires it has taken away my gear a good bit. I have the Holley Systamax II kit with the usual bolt ons. My question is do I go with the 4.10 or the 4.30? What would the 4.30 be like in the 1/4?

Thanks,

James

I would recommend posting your question in the Ford Racing forum. I'm sure it'll get answered here eventually, but I think you'd get faster advice there. You are obviously looking for track times, so I think you'll find more racers over there.

I don't have a clue!!

A lot depends on the use of your car. Is it a "Weekend Warrior" with only some city driving and some highway driving? Or is it more of a "Don't-give-a-darn-about-city-or-highway-driveability-but-mainly-care-about-trap-speed-in-relation-to-your-RPM-power-band?"

Whatever it is, I agree with Dave. Posting this is the Racing Forum should garner quite a few responses.
