Can an Aluminum drive shaft be cut down and re balanced like a stock steel one???

Call one of the drive shaft places in town and ask. I wouldn't know why not tho.

I dunno about being cut down, but I know of one guy who had more added on to an aluminum driveshaft. He had to have a bit more welded onto it so it would reach all the way back to the rear diff. So I'd think someone should be able to cut and balance a shaft for you.

I can get a used cop car alu drive shaft for $50.00 bucks the question is will i spend more than just buying a new one having this one cut and balenced.. I guess not because all the drive line kits you have to do the same with them.. Right?
