Need to know if I need a special distributor gear on a msd billet distributor in a Ford Motorsport. B303 cam GT 40X heads. This is a crate motor

Yes you do. YOu will need either a FoMoCo "steel" gear or an aftermarket (Comp, Crane, MSD, etc) bronze gear.

Which billet dist? If it's the one that was ment to be used as a direct replacement for EFI cars it should already have the correct gear on it for that block. Of course, I could be mistaken, but i dont see why they would put the wrong kind of gear on a direct replacement dist.

As far as I know it is for an earlier engine.

I went with a steel gear from Ford. I tore the bronze gear up on my 302(Z303 cam).
