i heard of people running 12's with almost stock motors all due to their suspension. is there anyone out there that are one of these people or know how they set up their suspension. any advice would be great.

Yes, what you have heard is true. Although, it takes some skill, a manual(or built auto)and a good car. If you have a weak motor, you won't be able to do it. There is no big secret in how this is done, as there are several aftermarket companies that make drag suspension setups for mustangs. One of these setups, the proper gearing, and slicks should get you well on your way.

Bob Cosby is probablt the "poster child" for stock motored mustangs. 1988 Coupe, 373 gears, motor not gone into nor valve covers taken off, external bolt ons (K&N, thermostat, etc.), headers, and slicks. Best ET was 12.52, best ET of 108.32, and best 60 foot of 1.67 seconds! After 120,000 miles it died and he got a 55,000 mile shortblock out of a 91LX. Did nothing to the bottom end save for the custom cam. Ported the stock heads and intake, kept the speed density with a chip, did some suspension mods, and got a best of 11.93, 110.18, and 1,58 short time. Not bad at all.
