Ok,
I have a lead on a 1985 SVO but knowing there was an upgrade on the SVO in April of '85 what would one look for if no other doucmentation (sp?) was at hand.
VIN ?
Date code? and what would an April 85 code look like?

The easiest way to tell Sam is to look at the front. If it has flush headlights (looks sorta like the '87+ but you can tell the difference) its an '85 1/2, if the headlights drop back, its an '85. This is an expensive thing to swap since there were so few made. It will also have dual (left and right) exhaust. The VIN would be 1FABP28TxFFxxxxxx, the T being the SVO engine. As of yet, I dont believe a serial number has been nailed down for the first '85.5.

Remember Sam, these suckers have some expensive parts to replace .

Ok, $1600 is hard to pass on even for an '85 . I've test drove/looked at buying ummm 4 different SVO's (all either '85.5 or '86s), great cars but sadly all the ones I looked at had problems .

Sad to report that it was sold (well money hasn't changed hands yet).
Tim it was a daily driver so it may have been in fair condition...
