My neighbor wants to put a MAC gear drive in a '74 302. The drive is advertised for '85 and up 5.0s. Is the front of a roller cam 5.0 different than a 302? Or are they saying '85 and up because of the fuel pump eccentric? The 85 GT has a mechanical pump so what's up? Thanks for any responses.

The price is right at $99.50. He wants to make sure it'll fit before he buys it!

Fuel pump eccentric. All of the blocks are the same in the front otherwise.

The blocks might be the same, but I couldn't use a pre 1985 roller chain timing set on my 1987 engine, it interfered with the block. Correct application (same vendor) worked fine.
