Certain things are very tough to get broken in. Especially for men. I just installed a new "soft" toilet seat in the bath room and....well, you guys all know the problem. The damn seat won't stay up! It takes about 10-15 good sit down jobs to get one properly broken in so it will stay up for stand up jobs. And women think that they have all the problems. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First SS/MA in the TENS! Ya know Alex, you wouldn't be totaling out those padded seats if you didn't 'rip' the seams apart, melting the seams after eating three hotdogs with onions and sport peppers! Even an Oak seat couldn't pass a test like that!!! LOL!!

I never could see the point in those things. I guess one remedy would be to pee outside. Not very nice in the ice belt at 2:30 in the morning though. Another option would be one of these: http://www.thefactoryoutlet.com/toilet_seat_lifter.htm ------------------ -Paul 70 Mach1 351C/FMX 79 Ranchero GT 302 smogger/C4 97 Expedition XLT 5.4 00 SVT f150 Lightning 4149 of 4966 Born on: 06/26/2000 'If you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.'

For some reason I thought about it and recalled that the holes in the bowl are about 3/8 to 1/2 inch and the seat bolt is only 1/4 inch. Have you tried to loosen the bolts and when you tighten them pull the seat forward as far as it goes? Ok, here's a million dollar idea for someone out there. A small magnet in the seat and a bit of metal embedded in the lid. The seat will stay up and the lid will come down automatically with the seat. You do put the seat down don't you?
