for about 10 weeks.Last saturday night while watching qualifing out in the garage with her I had said that when racing starts that thats when my car becomes the (star). She is not a car person so I thought it was time to tell her this.We had a very good time together in that short time. She WAS a blast. If she only knew what a 1.40 sixty foot felt like maybe we would still be together.I'm feeling kinda chevy about stuff now.[This message has been edited by F570rd (edited 04-05-2006).]

On my FIRST DATE with my (now) wife, we were headed to a club in Huntsville, about 20 miles away.....we were in my '69 on Hwy 231 and a fox body pulled up next to us...started reving his engine.....looked over at Cherie....she said...and I'll NEVER forget, "go for it, kick his *ss" just as plain as if she was saying, "I need to buy some milk".....THIS relationship was going to work !!! First date with my "honey" was in the Mach I. Went to the drags at Orange County International. On the Honeymoon, stopped at Riverside for the NASCAR race - in the '69. She's a keeper after 34 years. ------------------ SkinnyMan Tupelo, MS Thank you, Thank you very much!

I met this girl back in August, shes totally into cars. She knows quiet a bit and shes learning a lot. I had never met a woman that was into cars before. Needless to say, since Ive met her, it has become a requirement for the girls I see to know about cars... David F.

Ok - question - did you offer to include her in your devotion? I am hoping you just left that part out. I am living proof it is not impossible to have girl become a grrl in no time. Now, if she told you flat out "not interested" then great for both of you. No wasted time or hurt feelings. I am not getting the feeling you realize that you can have your cake and eat it too, so to speak. Give her a chance, she just might like it! I competed in my first IHRA points race last summer. 6 years ago, I wouldn't have known or cared about the difference between air pressure and fuel pressure. Thanks to a caring a patient teacher (my dear Alex) I can easily hold my own in many racing discussions. I might not know the inside and out of an engine, but I can give you the nickel tour! I have my own helmet, my own competition number and a huge sense of accomplishment. You just might have Grrl under all the girl. She might be a better driver than YOU! You don't know until you try! ------------------ Beth

Show her that it's more than a car! See if she would like to bring it to a test and tune. She might just get hooked! I would bet that any woman (car girl or not) which you date and tell her she comes second to your car during racing season, your dating life will look like the bottom two lights of the christmas tree.[This message has been edited by Ci8UUP (edited 04-07-2006).]

Saturday after noon she had her Mustang out and ask if I wanted to drive it.H/S...and i'm not talk'n (atch stock) here people, its a 5 speed.Yes there is raw material here.3 pedal girls are the coolest.Had a great day.She knows now, after much talking, that she is not in second place, but focusing on the car is Very important.Every thing is swell.Being that we are both just over 50,you kind'a get set in your ways.

I found the best way to get a NON CAR girl interested in the hobby is to first take her to a cruise night...a nice organized one with lots of cars...patiently explain to her that these are all 30 to 40 year old cars and point out the meticulous work the owners have done to them. Explain how the interior, the body and the engine were fixed up and the artistic talents that these guys and girls have. The races come later.....the noise, blow ups etc can be overwhelming to a newbie. Girls like nice cars first...fast comes later. Then you have to explain how this is kind of a "man" thing....(sorry grrlls don't get mad) I converted my late wife and now my present "main squeeze" to appreciate the cars and understand my obsession.------------------ EDDIE D Resto Mod '70 Sport Roof Arrest Me Red 13.1 @ 107 ON STREET TIRES (Maple Grove) '66 Coupe Project, "Mustang Marauder. ok!!! here ya go!! this is THE definitive GRRL gig ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GRRLS is an ATTITUDE and embraces everything with passion and gusto.... GRRLS know what they like and how to say so.... GRRLS like to touch before you "have to ask" .... she knows what YOU like as much as what SHE likes.... and.... she really truly likes to do the things YOU like.... a touch from a GRRL can melt you down into mass of wonderment ... marvelling ..."how does she do that..." a GRRL will speak her mind and will never settle for anything less than what she wants.... a GRRL also knows how to make sacrifices so that she can get what she wants.... a GRRL is independant and headstrong but tender and loving..... a GRRL is a female without all the whiney clingy dependant indesiveness stereotypically associated with "girls".... if we wear lace .... its to bed.... with the intention of not keeping it on very long if we need an oil change, we do it ourselves ..... we can open our own jars... we own power tools .....AND know how to use them... we become delicate tigers when it comes to the boys we have hearts for..... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... is that a little bit of a start? GRRLS? would you like to add anything? boys? would you? kk and yes, "boy" is a term of affection and endearment when it is from a GRRL.... cause we know you are really all-man... yet playful and sexy enough to attract the attention of a GRRL.....
