I've been in the same position a few times before. Sometimes you can do it all and it's not enough. All that tells you is that the match wasn't right. In cases like this it may not seem like it, but it's better for you also that it didn't work out because sometimes the replacement is 1000% better than the original. That's what happened to me when my first marriage broke up in '83. I was devastated, thought my life wasn't worth living, the whole nine yards. I lived a dark life for a few years, then by accident I met my current wife and I couldn't imagine a more perfect match. Better yet, with my first wife it seemed like I could never do anything right, with my current wife it seems like I can never do anything wrong, and let me tell you, that sure makes life a hell of a lot easier! Trust me, in time it all works out. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

I might be wrong, Dan, but my understanding of an M&M Grrrlll is that you should be confident, not fear the worst. To snag a Grrrlll, I believe you should INFORM her that you are interested, while creating the mildest illusion that she has freedom of choice. How about "Watch out Grrrllls! Here I come! The lucky one wins!" It may be obvious, but I have never dated a Grrrl

yes it does! the best suggestion i can offer to anyone is to get comfy with yourself... by yourself.... with no outside influences..... do what makes you thrilled and get happy being with yourself..... when you get to the point you are beyond content to ~NOT~ be in a relationship .... is exactly when someone will come along.... i have said this in so many words to ALOT of people .... this is only because ALOT of my friends said the same thing to ME..... and of course.... it took a while to get to that place..... to spend time alone and have your own schedule and your own plans ..... well.... you get the picture!! but then.... something happened exactly when i was not looking for a person in my life ..... boyfrinn innocently arrived ...... very long distance mind you ..... and it took a while for us to understand we were supposed to be together .... but once we realised..... it was a done deal..... so yah.... a person who is truly happy will attract many friends and opportunities to meet new people and .... well... there ya go!! kk

Men really are just animals, you know. 10,000 years of evolution has taught us to wear clothes and walk upright, but we still pee on lamp posts. Thank the Lord I don't have a daughter. No suitor would ever make it past the doormat! And just for some hard data ... I know cheating is more accepted in some societies than others, but get this - it's the truth. I probably know 200 Philippine guys well enough to open up over a beer. Out of them, probably 100 have children by at least two women and are seeing both women concurrently. 50 are just cheating on their wives. 49 are trying to cheat but not currently succeeding. And 1 - his name is Victor and he has no teeth - has given up and is celibate.

I agree capri. you are so much better off with out that @#$^@#^@&@& in your life anyway. Just remember what happened to you will probally happen again; unfortunately. it is pathetic how many people (male or female) are like that. had to keep the latch on to you to he had something more concrete SetUp, talk about insecurity. What a waste of skin he is, move on as best that you can. You will find better people once you leave the memories at the doorstep. [This message has been edited by FrdTuff (edited 02-02-2005).]

Dan, when I was single and wanted to meet women I used to go to singles dances. Grab a local paper and you'll find something like that going on. Up here the group is/was called 'The Singles Network.' Most guys don't like to dance, I sure didn't, but most of the time you don't even need to. Because of this though, the ratio was great, usually about 3-4 women to each guy. If you are shy, don't worry. Just sit at a table and nurse a drink and they will come to you and ask you to dance. You then either dance or ask to buy them a drink. Most of the women are mid-thirties or older, but that's a good thing. I should have mentioned this yesterday, because I bet there were lots of good events like that on Valentine's night. At least you'll avoid the holiday corn now. Keep your confidence up, remember that women want to be with men as much if not more than men want to be with women. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip
