The aim of this new forum is to bring to light the efforts of the people who are trying to save our rights as gearheads and the people who are trying to take them away.

As these issues surface, I urge all our members to write their local congressmen and senators to let them know that we vote, and we won't tolerate our rights getting stepped on.

Remember, if we say nothing it only means we don't give a damn.

Great! I welcome any input and help you can provide with this.

I plan on making my senators and congresswomen REAL sick of me.

Sounds good. I use a company name and get a discount, etc. Am well known in three paint supply houses. It's not new, at least here. I do remember a store that wouldn't sell to do it yourselfers. He felt he was protecting the businesses. Am going to check it out, but it's a fine line here as painting a car in a garage in a home is a $500 fine 1st time.

For those of us who do want to put our two cents in with congress, how do we start? I would like to write, but where do I send it, who to, and what do I right? I'm somewhat a youngin'(27), and would like to have a say in what happens to us gearheads and our kids in the future. I understand you have to use common sense when it comes to the do it yourself stuff....ie, painting outside, dumping oil and fluids, stuff like that. But just needed some direction here is all. Need to know where to start. Thanks guys.... Jay

I'll Second that!!!

We shouldn't just sit idle, complaining to each other & just watch the tree-huggers slowly eliminate our hobby! We all need to be more involved in the decision-making process that occur every month in our city, township, county and state government meetings! Sure, it takes some scheduling efforts and takes time away from our normal-but-hectic lives, but if we don't make the time to stand up for ourselves with a voice, the nut-cases will be left to "drive the bus", leaving us with non-customized, 100% OEM, econo-boxes or just pedal bikes to make our commute!

Chevy (and the rest of GM) is doing a good enough job of destroying themselves.

Great forum idea, Steve!

I've sent many emails to my Senators and Governor. I hope they realize that we are their supervisors and we can get rid of them if we all show we care.
