Be aware that the posted shipping weights are normally much lighter than real world weights. The shipping weights are normally for a zero option model (ie: 6 cyl, 3 speed manual, no PS or PB etc), and even still most cars weigh considerably more than the shipping weight. For example, my 78 Fairmont 2 door had a shipping weight of 2680 lbs, but it actually weighed over 3000 lbs, with its 302, PS & PB. As for the late 50`s Fords, I had a 1957 Ford Sedan Delivery with a 1972 360 FE V8 and C6, but no PS or PB, and it was 3980 lbs. I own a 1959 Ford 2 door sedan (332 V8 2 speed aluminum automatic, man. steering and brakes). With nothing in the trunk, and 1/4 tank of gas, it weighs 3550 lbs, which actually suprised me for being that light. The 57-59 Fords are fairly heavy vehicles, with heavy perimeter frames, and thicker body metal and glass than later cars.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed [email protected] 1.32 60 foot 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA M/Stock 302 5speed. Yes, that would likely be fairly close. With a 302 & C4. it may be a bit less than 3600, but not by a bunch. ------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed [email protected] 1.32 60 foot 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA M/Stock 302 5speed.
