I believe that 1960 would be correct, Alex. At least I have never seen a Ford full sized wagon any later than 1960.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed [email protected] 1.32 60 foot 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA M/Stock 302 5speed. Don't remember on the 2 dr. deal but do remember the 57 DelRio 2 dr wagon. Kind of rare. There's one advertised in the lates Antique Classic Trader. On the 2 dr deal, would think perhaps 59. That was the last year of the full size Ranchero which would have had similar tooling as the full size 2 dr. wagon.

Your theory about the 1959 seems to make sense, but I have personally seen a couple of 60 2 dr wagons around this area. It does seem that a lot of additional tooling would have been needed for such a low volume vehicle. I have owned 3 2 dr Ford wagons, a 58 Ranch Wagon, & 2 57 Sedan Delivery`s. I wish I still had them all now! The 58 & my first delivery were both crushed years ago, but my other delivery is living the "good life" in a local Ford Pro Mod racers mini museum. It shares space with among others, an original 70 Boss 429 Mustang, Hot Rod 34 Ford coupe (312 Tbird engine with 3 2barrels, chopped & channeled, still as built in the early 60`s), a 68 F100 with a twin turbo 390FE, tubbed with 14x32 tires on steel rims with stock hubcaps. This truck was bought new by the father. He also has an early Plymouth Valient, tube chassis with 392 Hemi street cruiser (wifes car!) ------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed [email protected] 1.32 60 foot 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA M/Stock 302 5speed. Most likely am... 70SportsRoof is correct. 1961 was the last year of the full size Ranch Wagon (Body Code 59). ------------------ I am looking for information concerning factory performance/aftermarket speed parts (1958/1960) used on the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) (Also Thunderbird 59/60) Engine Series (383-410-430-462) produced from 1958 thru 1968. 1958 EDSEL ROUNDUP Same body as 57/58 FORD RANCH WAGON 1957 MERC VOYAGER Notice HDTP as was CHEV NOMAD/PONT SAFARI ------------------ I am looking for information concerning factory performance/aftermarket speed parts (1958/1960) used on the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) (Also Thunderbird 59/60) Engine Series (383-410-430-462) produced from 1958 thru 1968. This is one heck of a project car... I would make it a HDTP with a B Pillar and sliding quarter glass instead of putting a STARLINER quarter pillar on it. I had never seen or heard of that 57 Merc "Voyager". That is wild! Love to find one of those and drop a 430 in it. I was a 2dr wagon guy in my teens....had a 57 2dr ranch, then a 58, then a 62 Falcon 2dr wagon.

The MERC wagons came through as HDTPS (2 and 4 dr) from 1957 to 1960. The 2dr. is hard to find.I still cannot figure why FORD didn't base an EDSEL (58) wagon on the MERC platform. What I was thinking is reworking the 57/58 RANCH WAGON door opening to a HDTP (MERC glass)(similiar to NOMAD) with a sloping B pillar and retain the sliding quarter glass. Then hang a 58 EDSEL front clip on it. ------------------ I am looking for information concerning factory performance/aftermarket speed parts (1958/1960) used on the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) (Also Thunderbird 59/60) Engine Series (383-410-430-462) produced from 1958 thru 1968.
