A friend of mine just made a good deal on 4 cars, & a ton of parts. He bought 3 57 Fords, a Ranchero (292 auto, PS & PB)that the owner had painted the original 2 tone blue& white 6 years ago. He got the car back from the body shop, started putting the trim back on, & then lost interest in it. The car has sat ever since. The paint still looks fine, plus the car ahs a full set of chrome 14" Magnum 500`s on it. Also included were 2 57 2 door sedans, a pretty rough Custom 300, as well as a virtually untouched, all original 57 Meteor (Canadian Ford)base 2 door sedan. The Meteor has the original 223 6 cyl, 3 speed manual Overdrive, factory tinted glass, and is complete right down the the original air cleaner & battery holddown. It was last insured in 1981. The front fenders & rockers are rotted, but everything else looks great. Also included, but basically just good for a few parts, like the 9" (same as a 57-59 Ford) is a 59 Edsel Ranger 4 dr sedan. Supposedly the Edsel had been used in a movie, & had a roll bar welded in for stunt car work.In addition to the cars, there are 4 Town & Country radios (like a Chevy "Wonderbar", 5 or 6 Y blocks, a 428. 2 391 truck blocks, boxes of side trim, wheels, bumpers, doors, tailgates, hoods, basically EVERYTHING this guy had left after 30 years of playing with 57`s. He said he had owned 28 57`s over the years. He said that there is 4 truck loads of stuff at a friends barn, as well as a fairly full 20 foot long container full of stuff. The Ranchero is nice enough that my buddy can probably sell it for enough to cover what he paid for the entire purchase. Just thought I had to share!------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA M/Stock 302 5speed. Extra cool, I have always loved the 57's If I live long enough I hope to own another one.I spent a good portion on my latter teen age years cruising around in a friends 57 black Fairlane Club Victoria 2dr hardtop. If you want to see what that model looked like here is a link. http://www.1957ford.com/asp/gallery.aspx?catmstrid=1&catdetid=8 Don's was all black and looked real good. I had a 57 500 4dr hdt with a 312 T-Bird special, Autolite carb and a Fordomatic. Two tone black and white. It was one of my "daily drivers" right after I put the 5.14 gears in MM. I must have neutral dropped that car 200 times. The trans leaked so bad I started adding 50 wt motor oil instead of ATF. I paid $35 for it, installed a new glass pack dual exhuast system, tuned it up,drove the piss out of it for about a month, then sold it to a puerto Rican guy for $200 show loved the way it looked and sounded. He puked the trans in about two weeks after he bought it. He went to a bone yard and bought a 3 speed conversion for $50, clutch and all. I helped him install the Foxcraft floor shifter (remember those?)and he drove that car for another two years that I know of. Oh yeah, he put blue "racing stripes" down the middle of the car along with chrome reversed wheels and Warshawsky's spinners. Ah, those were the days.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
