What was the brand name of the tire manufacturer who produced wide stock looking tires in the 60's and 70's.
I think it was Posi-Traction, but not 100% sure.
Not Marsh, or Pro Trac for sure.

Most if not all their tire had very thin white pencil stripe white walls.
They advertised in all the magazines back then.
Small black and white add.
They made real off the wall sizes like J70 x 15, D60 x 13, etc.

Where did you see Posi Traction tires Scoop?
All I see is the Pro Trac stuff.

Sorry my bad
Is it McCreary tires or the name was something close to that ?
Were the add's for wide tires like for pro streeter's ?

I'm not 100% sure Ron.
I thought it was posi-traction tires company.
They were installed on a lot of custom cars built by Barris for the movies and TV, and a lot of street racers used them as I recall.

Firestone used the term Wide Oval, but I'm sure you know that.

I think Scoop is right, and they were the McCreary tires.

Didn't Dunlop run ads like those, with the tires mounted on Magnums?

Yes, Dunlop did run adds using Magnum 500 wheels.
I think the tire I am referring to had no wheel in their adds.

I remember Firestone had a version of their Wide Oval tire with a thin white line out close to the tread.

To the best of my knowledge, Casler only made slicks. Both full and cheater styles.

Alex, I had a set of PosATraction "Torque Twisters"60`s on a 69 Fairlane Cobra FB that I bought in California years ago. I believe that they are/were a Southern California company. Another street tire from the 60`s & 70`s was the Formula 1 Super Stock. Hell, back in the 70`s, I was a big fan of the FISK Sprint.I had a set of their G60-14`s on my 70 Mustang FB (on US Indy aluminum slots, no less!)

For the longest time I ran Mickey Thompson Indy Profile N50-15s. They would not hook up for anything! Every day was like an ice storm with those suckers!

What was fun, though, was that all the dweebs around would say the same thing, "I bet you can't turn those big suckers..."

The ones I remember were white walls, but I also seem to remember them making 60 series with very small raised white letters.

Englewood made a tire called the Positraction in the late 60s and early 70s. I had a set on a 68 Chevelle.

THAT'S IT!
Englewood Positraction tires.

Thanks Tom, it was driving me nuts.
They were the coolest looking and best hooking street tires ever.
They also offered unique sizes that no other manufacturer did.
