Anyone hear any new info? I was hoping these would have been through R&D, mock-up, and on to production by now...

I am looking for information concerning factory performance/aftermarket speed parts (1958/1960) used on the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) (Also Thunderbird 59/60) Engine Series (383-410-430-462) produced from 1958 thru 1968.

The initial SpeedSmith renboard models that were made earlier this year flowed over 18% more than the currently radical ported cast iron heads. The flow numbers and more technical information can also be found on the website with the pictures.

In preparation for the SpeedSmith heads, Eaton will be trying two experimental Isky cams on the dyno. The heads will also utilize the increased flow from both the Putnam single-plane intakes and the Blue Thunder dual-plane aluminum intake which demonstrated an out-of-the-box 25+ HP gain over the "best" modified '57 Ford cast-iron intake.

Think I would wait just a little longer. Sounds good if it ever happens...

It`s been a long time now, but I believe that all the 57 Yblock car heads (other than the supercharged) were the same. Back in the early 70`s,I pulled a pair of heads & intake from a 57 Monarch (Canadian version of a US Mercury)with a 312, Holley 4150 4 barrel. I had them rebuilt, & then installed them on the 272 that was in my 57 Sedan Delivery. Both heads had the same casting number, ECZ-G. So was that correct, that my 272 2barrel engine came from the factory with the same heads as a 4 barrel 312?

Yes. ECZ-G was common to all '57 272/292/312.
