Thanks for posting the pic of the Turnpike cruiser. My Dad had one in the early 60's but lost all his pics in a house fire. He said that he blew-up the original motor so he ordered a bigger displacement motor from back east. After he put the new motor in he broke the speedo cable of twice.

I wonder... Does he remember if the car came origionally with a 312...and he upgraded to a 368?

The car came with a 368. The new motor had more cubes(could have been a bored over block) and a bigger cam. I'll ask him if he remebers who he ordered it from.

I am looking for information concerning factory performance/aftermarket speed parts (1958/1960) used on the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) (Also Thunderbird 59/60) Engine Series (383-410-430-462) produced from 1958 thru 1968. Also older FORD Special Service Tools -MEL Engine Forum-
