My dad's 23T is coming along nice. He did a lot work to get the front done. It's now a roller we just put the engine and trans in yesterday. Next brakes lines
I can't wait to get this car out on the road.

I noticed after we put the engine and trans together. His motor did not a have a motor plate like my 69-351w did. His is an 80's truck 351w with a truck AOD trans.
Does he need a motor plate ?

Scoop, I`m pretty sure it should have the block plate sandwiched between the engine & transmission. The hole in the plate locates the starter in the correct posistion.

Yes, you want a plate. I think Alex said he has some.

I'd love to see pics of your dad's T, do you have any handy?

No the front rims and tires came with the pile parts.

They kinda look like the Drag Lite's with the little holes all round the outter rim. They are the Enki(sp) brand rims.

They have 4.5" x 15" tires on them we wanted alittle wider tire for the mountian roads around here.

The rears are M/T 29"x18.5"x15" on Centerlines rims.

I'll get some pictures when I can.

Do like my dad's lavender garage, the guy loves purple. But at his size not many people say anything about it.
The body is going to be purple and the rear doesn't show in the pictures is powered coated dark purple.

I didn't even notice the color, I thought it was the lighting. Nothing's wrong with purple, it beats the hell outta pink.

Very slow progress is being made. This thing takes a lot of time. Most of it we are having to fab up our selfs. I know me fabbing anything is alittle scary.
We hope to have it done this summer. But then again we said that last summer too.
BTW my son is about an inch taller then me now.

More head aches we keep having to redone items over again. To bad that neither one of us know what the heck were doing.
One day this car will be done. And it'll be the only all Ford car in the Reno T-bucket club.

Just consider the redo's as education. When you get done you will be knowledgable about car fabrication. That's how we learned in the old days. We had to make everything because it wasn't available otherwise.

Enjoy the time you are working, you are making priceless memories along with that car.

John my dad I have learned a lot already. I now have a better understanding of why some people just pay someone to bluid them a car.
I wouldn't trade the time with my dad and son for anything.
This is a project that my dad and I have talked about doing for the last 30 years.

It does make me more then ever want to do something this for a living. I love wrenching, and customizing parts.

I can now understand why it takes some people YEARS to build a car. We have made very little progress this year.
I really can't wait to drive this car, or better yet go for a ride with my dad. It's been a project we dreamed of doing for over 30 years now. So many little things to do,from wiring to cables etc.

My dad and I are learning as we go. That makes it go even slower. I need to get some updated pictures with the new rims and tires. We are reallyhoping to take it to Hot August Nights this summer. He already signed up and payed to be in it. So thats alittle more motivation.
Working full time, having my honey do's and many of my own projects on my 65 to get done. I don't know where to find the time.
