Cool site, too bad there was no pic of the 292 Yblock powered 87 Mustang However, there is a pic of the 11 second Y block Maverick, & 9 second roadster.I made my first ever 1/4 mile runs in my 57 Ford Sedan Delivery back in the early 70`s, later the first engine I ever rebuilt was the 272 from the same car. Thanks for posting it. ------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker 302 5speed. 13.04@101mph 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd

Was hoping to get the Mustang to Columbus this last Labor Day, but he didn't make it. Have also heard of a 30 something coupe in the Houston area running a Y-Block, waiting for pictures from him.Jim

Seems like some of the best Y-block info around...gives me the drive to hurry up and get the 312 in my '57 rebuilt and add one of those adapters for an AOD. That's a great site you got there Jim...I found out about it from Rod & Custom mag.------------------ Gary M. 1946 Ford pickup 1946 Ford pickup 1957 Ford FL 500 Twn Vic 1970 Mustang SportsRoof [This message has been edited by 70SportsRoof (edited 10-22-2003).]

We have a racer up here with a pretty famous Y block drag car from the late 60`s-early 70`s. It is a blown 312 57 Ford Custom business coupe, which was called the "Legal Cheater", & was owned by Larry Walker out of California. In the early 70`s, it was sold to the fellow that still owns it, although the last time I seen it race was 1975 or 76.As far as I know, it sits in exactly the same condition now, as it did then. Very cool car, I hope he brings it out again soon.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker 302 5speed. 13.04@101mph 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd
