The drivers side exhaust manifold on my 1959 Meteor (Full sized Canadian Ford) with a FE 332 V8 is cracked. I have another nice correct 59 manifold to relace it with. However, it appears that this engine has never had any noticable engine work before, as the exh. manifold bolts still have the factory locking tabs in place. This means that the bolts have been in there for 45 years now, and suprisenly, the bolts seem a tad tight! On the FE engines, the upper exh. manifold bolts are drilled and tapped all the way thru, so it`s quite common for them to badly rust the bolts, which very often leads to most, if not all the upper bolts to snap off. Since the engine still runs pretty good, so I don`t really want to pull it, or re &re the cylinder to drill out broken bolts, does anybody have any suggestions to remove these upper bolts, without breaking them? Prehaps a super incredible penetrating oil, or some other trick. Good luck Rory, I've had the same struggles in the past. I never came up with a solution that worked every time. Roger------------------ 65 comet project 84 T-bird 302/C4 14sec street/strip Made in CANADA built for speed #1145

I'll tell you what works for me a lot of the time heat the bolt up with a propane torch and touch it with a candle the heat melts the wax and it runs down the threads and frees them and lubes them too!!
