I`m not certain what drivetrain I`m gonna use in my 59 2 door sedan yet. I plan to keep the original 332 & FordOMatic for now, as they seem fairly decent. However, I could rebuild one of my 428 CJ`s, & put that in with a C6, or maybe a 390 I have. However, with our Canadian gas up near $4.00 a gallon, I may consider taking the 302 & T5 5 speed out of my street Fairmont. This would knock about 300 lbs off the nose, which would make the manual steering easier to live with. If I do this, does anybody know if any headers for a different application will work? Also, what about the manual clutch linkage? My car is an automatic now, but I have another 59 parts car, with a 6 cyl, stick, so I have the pedals & linkage for that car. My block is a 1978 model, so it does have the pivot ball hole in the block. Or has anybody converted a older Ford to a cable clutch set up?------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker under construction, 302 5 speed 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd
