I think that I heard (read) someone this site call the TYPICAL "350 sbc in a '32-'34 Ford roadster" a "Monkey". Monkey see, Monkey do. Get it? If I didn't hear that name here, well, now y'all have a new word (in this context). The guys that own these cars never seem to know what I mean when I call their car a "monkey". And I never tell them. Just walk off with a smirk. A mild revenge on the people who have discraced our beloved cars. Some day I'm going to buy an early 70's Vette and put a BBF in it with "Powered by Ford" sticker all over the car.

Kirk.

I think that was TomP that said that.

When I see them I'm not shy about saying "Aww, sh!t! It has a chebby drivetrain!"

Hey Kirk,

If you get a chance go to the next FunFord Weekend at Ennis.

There is a 68 or 69 Firebird that is powered by a 429CJ. It has a sticker that says powered by FORD on the rear window. It is a VERY nice ride too. He is there nearly every year I have. He races it too. It is a Monster....

Every time I see a Chebbie in a Ford I just utter "Sacrilege". and move on.

I want to find a 46 Chebbie and put in BBF. I will name it "Reverse Sacrilege" and paint it with that name.

The reason you hardly ever see a Ford engine in a chebby is that nobody wants the chebby part.

I usually describe the end product as an unnatural act akin to SODOMY and walk away.

I know of at least 2 Ford powered Chevys that race on the West coast. Both run in NHRA Super Street. One is Gary Erikson`s FE powered Vega SW (with a Monza nose), that has been using Ford power at least since 1980, when I first met him. He is currently building a Ford Probe to put his FE into. In California, David Cook Sr. races a 427 FE powered early 70`s Corvette, it`s red, & has also been running Ford power for quite some time.

Back in the mid 70's at Beech Bend Raceway (Sportsnationals) I saw a '67 Vette with a Ford 427.
