I have been searching the web looking for manufacturers of 1/24 or 1/25 scale Ford engines and haven't located any. I ran across one resin shop that makes the 170/200 inline 6, but nothing else. I also located a sight that carries Mopar engines (340, 383, 440 & 426 Hemi) and Chevy (327, 350, 396, 454), but unfortunately no Fords. The reason I am looking is because the couple of Mustangs I am currently building (a '71 Mach and '73 Mach) are AMT kits that have what appear to be 289's in them and would like to locate a 351C to install. I know I can kit bash, but from what I have found is that the AMT line had 351C's in their '74/'75 Mustang kits (go figure that one!!) and those kits are costing way to much to just locate an engine. If anybody knows a current release with a 351C I can get cheap enough, I'm all ears! Anyhow, any leads or info on where to locate Ford engines would be a huge help and thanks in advance. This would also help for future projects requiring 390/428/429/429 Boss engines as well. ------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (under resto-351C-4V C6 auto) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) M & M Member #730

The NASCAR kits have 351C heads and 351W blocks like the 1:1 cars. The Monogram (Revell) 1/24 BOSS 302 heads and valve covers are identical to BOSS 351C pieces. The old AMT "Macho Mustang" (a '73 Trans Am car) says 351C on the box but the motor is actually a 427 with "pent roof" valve covers. I can't say that I've ever seen a correct 1/25 351C block. The Monogram (Revell) 1/24 427 Cobra, Talladega Torino 428CJ are excellent motors. The Revell 1/25 1964 Thunderbolt 427 High Riser 4x2, 1969 Shelby Mustang 428CJ, 1969 Mustang 428CJ, AMT 1967 Cyclone GT, Fairlane GT and 427 Fairlane are also excellent FE's. The Monogram 1/24 Boss 429 is excellent as is the Revell 1/25 1970 Torino 429CJ. The Torino is the first accurate scale 429 motor to be made. ON THE ENGINES DEAL, AMT MAKES A VERY GOOD LOOKING BOSS 302 THAT CAN PROBABLY BE MODIFIED TO LOOK LIKE A CLEVELAND (WORKING ON ONE NOW MYSELF). THIS ENGINE IS IN THE CURRENT '69 COUGAR ELIMINATOR KIT (YEAH, I KNOW IT SHOWS A 428 ON THE BOX AND EVEN THE DECALS SAY 428 ON THEM BUT IT'S A BOSS 302 ENGINE IN THE KIT...) PERRY'S RESIN REPLICAS OUT OF CANADA HAS A VERY NICE CAMMER ENGINE THAT CAN BE ORDERED WITH SINGLE/DUAL FOUR BARRELS OR SUPER-CHARGED WITH EITHER 4 SPEED OR C-6 AUTO. TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET THE STUFF BUT IT IS VERY GOOD QUALITY. BY THE WAY, AMT IS SUPPOSED TO BE RE-RELEASING A '71 AND A '73 FASTBACK KIT. AS A SIDE NOTE, IF YOU GO TO A SIGHT CALLED FRED'S MODEL WORLD, THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A LIMITED RUN OF THE OLD '65 FALCON AWB CAR TO BE RELEASED THIS FALL. HOPE THIS HELPS.
