I have 2 so far. One is a Johan 72 Funny Car,and the other is a Lindberg 72 fastback. The lindberg is a cheesy one. I had some a quite a while ago,and I think it was an AMT, but not sure. It was a Boss 351!

They have been out of circulation since the early 80's,so they will be hard to find, and more than likely expensive. They do have a 71 Boss 351 and a 73{?} Mach1 in the Magna series diecast, which is 1/43 scale. They are currently out there, but a little work to find. Try ToysRUs! [This message has been edited by MLariviere (edited 01-24-2002).]

Revell makes the 1/25 '73 "Blue Max" funny car and MPC made a '71 Boss 351 (I have each). You can find both on e-bay most any time. There was also an AMT '71 Mach 1, which is out of circulation but can be found at swap meets. Not sure of any other body styles in those years. To find the MPC on e-bay just search "MPC mustang", last week there was 4 of them for sale on there. Also, in April (I think it's ERTL) they are supposed to be releasing some 1/18 scale '71 mustang diecasts, just not sure what body styles yet.------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (his) under resto (351C-4V C6 auto) 73 Mach 1 (hers) (351CJ 4 speed) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) 89 LX 2.3 convertible (daughter Amanda's) M & M Member #730

Hey guys, Just a heads up, but I just bid on and won three model kits since last week on ebay (had to keep it a secret of course). A '72 fastback dragster by Johan (Boss Hoss) and they have two more on there still available to bid(search "Johan mustang"). Also a '71 Mach 1 from MPC and also a '73 Mach 1 from AMT. I got all of these for bids in the $20 range, so they are out there.------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (his) under resto (351C-4V C6 auto) 73 Mach 1 (hers) (351CJ 4 speed) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) 89 LX 2.3 convertible (daughter Amanda's) M & M Member #730

Another one I have (thanks to a certain Aussie friend) and is also my pride and joy (although unbuilt yet) is a '72 Mach 1 in 1/12 scale. They are Japanese made, but impossible to find any more. This thing is huge!!!------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (his) under resto (351C-4V C6 auto) 73 Mach 1 (hers) (351CJ 4 speed) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) 89 LX 2.3 convertible (daughter Amanda's) M & M Member #730

That sounds about right, which is why I jumped on this one for $100 (US=$200 Aussie). I hated to spend that much but knew they were going for closer to $175-200 now.------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (his) under resto (351C-4V C6 auto) 73 Mach 1 (hers) (351CJ 4 speed) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) 89 LX 2.3 convertible (daughter Amanda's) M & M Member #730

No problem Dave, always glad to help out. So, which one did you wind up with?? I have been the high bidder on 4 in the past two weeks and now have a total of 7 '71-'73 fastback/Mach 1 kits. I wish I could find if they ever made any coupes or converts, because I would like to get ahold of some of those also.------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (his) under resto (351C-4V C6 auto) 73 Mach 1 (hers) (351CJ 4 speed) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) 89 LX 2.3 convertible (daughter Amanda's) M & M Member #730

I don't recall of any,but there may be some. Check the Johan line. They made alot of unusual stuff. There may be some dealer promos out there, but those go for good money.

Hey Dave, Just found out an outfit called Palmer (out of Brooklyn, NY)made a 1/43 scale (or perhaps 1/32) 1971 convertible. Found one on ebay this morning, but no pictures and it was going for a ridiculous price. Anyway, from what I understand Palmer made quite a few mustang models back in the '70's. Good luck hunting!!!------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (his) under resto (351C-4V C6 auto) 73 Mach 1 (hers) (351CJ 4 speed) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) 89 LX 2.3 convertible (daughter Amanda's) M & M Member #730
