I just got a Blue Max model and was wondering what the correct blue to use? Its a very nice kit with nice detail and options.

I kind of thought it was but I couldnt tell as all of the pictures on the box are of the car at night. I thought that they might have used a slightly different color.

I remember seeing the car in person in the '70s. Mike is right, it is very much like acapulco blue. It was a medium-dark metallic blue. It was a very beautiful color!------------------

I saw this car also back in the early 70s but I was very young and only recall that it seemed bright. For this reason I thought it might not be a factory color.

I took this when I was 12 years old with my Kodak Instamatic 104. Anybody recognize the track? Many race cars back then were painted with custom metalflake and candy colors. Tracy

I have the Polar Lights '69/'70 one. There is an actual photo on the box top but it looks like it was taken in low light conditions with a flash. quote: Originally posted by DidgeyTrucker: Which Blue Max did you get? The Revell '71 or the Polar Lights '69/'70?Tracy

I am in the process of finishing the Revell '71 and it calls for (believe it or not) Blue Pearl. I found the color but I could only get it as a brush on paint. Hope that helps Tony C*------------------ 65 Convertible, Vintage Burgandy/Standard Black Interior, 289, 4spd M&M Member#450 It ain't done yet, but it'll be done right!!

Now is the 71 car painted the same color blue as the 69-70 cars?
