I just got a Blue Max model and was wondering what the correct blue to use? Its a very nice kit with nice detail and options.

I kind of thought it was but I couldnt tell as all of the pictures on the box are of the car at night. I thought that they might have used a slightly different color.

I remember seeing the car in person in the '70s. Mike is right, it is very much like acapulco blue. It was a medium-dark metallic blue. It was a very beautiful color!

I saw this car also back in the early 70s but I was very young and only recall that it seemed bright. For this reason I thought it might not be a factory color.

I took this when I was 12 years old with my Kodak Instamatic 104. Anybody recognize the track?
Many race cars back then were painted with custom metalflake and candy colors.

Which Blue Max did you get? The Revell '71 or the Polar Lights '69/'70?

I have the Polar Lights '69/'70 one. There is an actual photo on the box top but it looks like it was taken in low light conditions with a flash.

I am in the process of finishing the Revell '71 and it calls for (believe it or not) Blue Pearl. I found the color but I could only get it as a brush on paint.
Hope that helps

Now is the 71 car painted the same color blue as the 69-70 cars?
