Coming Soon. The Shelby GT-H. Only from Hertz.
In 1966 the Hertz Corporation and Carroll Shelby produced 1000 Shelby Mustangs. Together, they made these high-performance, special-edition Ford Mustangs available to car rental customers. And the car rental business was never the same. 40 years later, the thrill is back. Introducing the Shelby GT-Ha one-of-a-kind limited edition, available exclusively through Hertz. Its just one of the many exhilarating cars that you can reserve from the Hertz Fun Collection. And unlike the 1966 Shelby, this one comes equipped with SIRIUS Satellite Radio, like all Fun Collection vehicles. The Shelby GT-H will be available for reservations in mid-May at the following airport locations: Phoenix, ArizonaLos Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and San Francisco, California
 Denver, Colorado
Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach, Florida
 Maui and Honolulu, Hawaii
 Boston, Massachusetts
 Las Vegas, Nevada
 Portland, Oregon
 Seattle, Washington

That BLOWS !! I don't have any clients anywhere near the above locations. So much for expensing it, lol. Guess I'll have to drive up to Boston and try and it rent it for a weekend. |

 | posted 04-22-2006 03:20 PM It's only a 45 minute drive to West Palm. I should go rent one for a few days. I don't believe there are any performance enhancements though. Bummer.

BTW: 2'd place trophy today out of 64 Ford cars & trucks...Not too bad I guess!!!

 | posted 04-23-2006 07:44 PM That would be a decent trip. I hope they don't charge by the mile. hehe. Congrats on the trophy. I won't be getting one for a while. The bummer though, the club's having their annual picnic this weekend and I'm sure my Shelby clone would take first place if it was ready.

Sure won't be 17 cents/mile... When yours is done, I'm sure you'll be getting best of show trophies instead of just top 30, etc. |

I haven't seen anything in M.M. but there's a bunch of stuff on the web if you do a Shelby GT-H search.
Over $100.00/day & who knows what for mileage...They're going to milk this one for ALL they can get (Shelby AND Hertz). Doesn't do to be a motorhead now a days if you ain't got BIG BUCKS to back your "Need for Speed". |
