Windy was ordered Aug. 18 and we were told it would be 12 - 16 weeks before she would arrive. I got the call at work today that she arrived yesterday John has to work late today , so I went to see her by myself. She's already been prepped and gassed up, so for a spin we went. Couldn't do 80 on the interstate onramp because there were other vehicles in front of me , but she was lots of fun anyway. (I hit that speed on the '05 I test drove - oops!) She'll get her undercoating and other protectants tomorrow and we'll bring her home Saturday. I've asked Steve to post a picture that my salesman took (he's a Mustang person - that's why I picked him) and e-mailed me.

Just had to announce

That was quick Carole. Congrads! I also like the choice of rims. You done good Grrl Frinn!

So much for having two stangs 40 years apart. Close, but not as close as we all thought. Guess you can suprise Tom Saturday night. Looking forward to checking her out Saturday. Guess you can check out Envy also. Want to trade test drives??? You test out Envy and I will test Windy?!!!

Steve, thank you for posting Windy's pictures. Those wheels are standard on the GT and I liked them better than the optional ones. What I want to get is the running horse/tri-bar center caps (similar to the styled steel wheels of the '60's). Hopefully we can order those. I'm also planning to add rocker panel stripes - hopefully some running horses instead of the Mustang wording. We shall see. Standard also if you order cloth interior on the GT is running horses all over the seats - that was one reason for ordering the cloth. Now to figure out which of the 125 colors I want on the gages John and I are very excited. I've already promised him he could drive her home.

Beth, hopefully you will get your Cobra before too long. What year are you shooting for?

Dave, test driving each other's cars sounds like a fun idea. Yes, Windy missed being 40 years younger than Miss Stang by almost three months I was hoping her build date would be the end of December. Oh well, she's a Labor Day (close enough) baby.

Carole,
Sounds like a plan on test drives. Talked to my dad this evening and told him that Windy arrived early. He is excited for you. I also think he would like a ride. Mom is talking about wanting a new Mustang Vert. Imagine that.

Dave, I've promised John he could drive Windy home from the dealership tomorrow. He didn't ask - I offered. It may be the last time he gets to drive her lol. He hasn't driven a new one yet - I test-drove both an '05 to see if I wanted one (yeah, right ) and got to take Windy out for a spin yesterday. See, I can be nice.

I just got off the phone with USAA to add Windy to the policy and my service writer (or whatever they're called) is named Wendy. We both got a chuckle out of that.

Windy is home in her garage (actually she and Anni will rotate garages according to which is being driven each week) getting the low-down from Miss Stang on the pecking order around here. You know how it is - Miss Stang is the oldest both in age and how long I've had her, so she is in charge. If anyone loses garage space for some reason, it will NOT be her. Yes, John did get to drive Windy home. I took her for her Jenro's debut. Dave and I didn't get to test drive each other's cars, but that is his story to tell. I enjoyed the run. The two blue Mustangs look good in the garage - 40 years apart.

Carole,
Thanks for the rescue this afternoon. Long story. The short version is that Terri's '66 DID NOT make it to the cruise-in this evening. Instead she died on the way there. Looks like the alternator may be bad.
The good news was that Terri got a ride in Windy this evening and I got to check out Carole's new ride. It is one very nice looking stang. Congrads on the newest addition to the herd. Enjoy the ride.

Darn you! It's the same color as my 69 sportsroof, and I dream of having a matched set.

Congratulations. It's beautiful.

May I ask, what color is the interior? I'd love to see some photos of that, too.

Harley, the interior is medium graphite. We got the interior upgrade which is brushed alumium dash, some sections of the steering wheel and shifter lever. It does look really good. As for pics, Dave is supposed to bring his camera to the show tomorrow, so we'll see what we can do.
