I've seen some people refer to Saleens as an "investment." Is that true? Are they really holding their value?I saw a couple of 2005 Saleens this weekend and was very impressed. But, with a pricetag at over $50,000 (including a healthy dealer markup), that's a healthy investment. If you had 50 grand laying around, would you "invest" it on a Saleen?

I would if I had an extra 50,000 laying around after I bought a Boss 302, and a 69 Mach 1 with a 428. I did see an 05 Saleen yesterday and like you, I was very impressed. I think for the pure fun factor of driving, the Saleen would win out. But I would think with some patience in finded the right car at the right price, the two cars I mentioned (and probably others), would be a better investment. ------------------ 71 Mach 1 351C Tremec 3550 3.89's (mine) 99 Mustang GT BIG injectors 75mm throttle body 5-speed 3.73's (sons) 03 Mach 1 (daughters) 02 Mustang GT Convertable 5-speed (wifes) 65 Mustang Road Race car (mine)

No.I have an '01 Saleen. It originally stickered for $42k. I got it last fall with only 8k miles on it for $19k. Granted, I stole it. Blue book on it is (was) $28k. They will always be worth a little more than the Cobra, but depreciate just the same.
