Hmm, I think I will need a part from the dealership tomorrow (lol, since when do I need a reason to go to the dealership?)

Did a quick search and there are 5 at one dealership (2 GT, 3 V6), 1 at 3 other dealerships, and 4 (2 and 2) at another. So thats 12 within smelling distance, I have to go check one out (did I mention my wife and I have been car shopping? ).

The one here is $27.800. It'd be interesting
to hear what other dealers are asking.

Tim, don't get your hopes up about the cars actually being at the dealership, when they say they're there online.

The 2 dealerships near me are showing four '05s at one, and two at the other. I've been by both of them for the past week, and there are physically none.

I've read online that they'll put them in the dealer's inventory before they actually arrive...those are the ones they are slated to get.

That may not be the case over there, but just in case...

Bah, the one dealer I went to tonight (the one that was suppose to have 4) said theirs was suppose to be in yesterday but got told it will be tomorrow instead (they are going to call me). They still have a bunch of '04s on the lot including some nice Roush's.

Well I got a call around 1pm saying that they got their '05 in so I went by earlier tonight. Ended up playing with the finance manager just to see what I would qualify for, they were asking $35155 for it!! It was a fully loaded black GT (1000 watt stereo, interior package with the red and black leather, etc) but there is no way I would pay the $6K dealer markup! It was hilarious watching him act like the lower payment was equal to a lower price, I wonder how many people they sucker in this way.

Overall impression is I really, really like the '05. The styling is very cool, even the back seat has the hump in the middle like the old days. There is more room inside than the previous Mustangs. New shifter feels nice, guages seems very nice. We never did find the trunk switch though, had to use the key. The trunk is liveable for a Mustang They wouldnt let me drive it but he did let me fire it up on the sales floor lol.

Hey Skip. Glad you got to make it over to the Fall Classic. Terri and I may try for tomorrow. We shall see. We also got to see a Black '05 GT Mustang at Jenro's tonight. I also noticed the battery being at the firewall and it suprised me. I also noticed that Ford beefed up the shock towers compared to the '04s. Not much room in the engine compartment. Glad I don't have to turn wrenches on these newer cars. I wouldn't have any hands left.

Had to go to the local Ford dealer today to drop off my Ranger to see if they could fix the trans slip for the third try & there was a new 05 Mustang out front drawing a crowd. It was red with a gray inteior, looked cool. I like it. The price on the sticker I think was $28,500.00 & that was for a GT.

Well, apparently the dealer in Annapolis has 2.

I left work this afternoon, and got out on the main road...saw some odd taillights 2 cars ahead of me. I realized it was an '05. I prayed for the car in front of me to get out of the way, or the '05 to be going the same way...well, the car between us moved. So I "caught up" to the '05...it was a black V6. At the next intersection, it stayed in the through-lane, and I pulled up in the left-turn lane beside it. It had the Shelby-esque wheels on it (with the spinner centers), no plates (probably the dealer tags in the window), and still had the little bar code sticker on the quarter glass.

The best part: Two quite attractive young ladies were in it. I complimented them on the car, they reciprocated...I asked them where they got it, and they said they worked at the dealership (and showed their jacket sleeves...yup, Koons Ford of Annapolis). Said they got a red one in too. Forgot to ask if it was another V6 or a GT. The girl in the passenger seat (who was *really* hot) asked if I wanted one...I said "Yeah, but I gotta pay this one off first..." We chatted for another few seconds about it, I got their names...they were like "If you change your mind, come see us! Tell your friends!" And the light changed.

My brain just about exploded from beauty overload...a couple of cute girls in a sharp Mustang...not an everyday sight around here.

The MSRP on the one they had was $29K, the dealers asking price was $35155. Guess what, it was still there today . Another dealership I passed has a white GT out front, gotta stop by .

I am really starting to like the new style.. At first I wasn't sure about the front clip,, but now I see the 2004 body style and this is much cleaner..

I think it's because I have a blown up picture of a 2005 Yellow GT-R as my DeskTop Screen..

I went to a wedding last night, and one of the people there was a woman I used to work with that now works at the local Ford dealer. She said they just got their first '05 Mustang this week and people have been coming in by the bus loads to look at it, and they've been letting so many people take it out for test drives that she thinks nobody will want to buy it before too long with all the miles that are being piled onto it.

After the wedding I swung by the dealership and there it was, a black GT 5 speed with the decor {Bullitt type} wheels. It looked pretty nice, even though it could use a wash. It had a sticker of $26k on it.

The dealership told me that they wont let people test drive them until they have a bunch more, they dont want miles on them.

Not a one in Reno yet ? The local Ford dealer is not known for their service and lastly for their price. So I'm sure they will add $5000 to the price. They do have an add for fully loaded 04 GT's for $19,998. Also 04 F150 crewcabs with lots of options for $25,998. I've been trying to talk my into to trading her car for a F150 or SUV. But an 05 would be even better. My kids would have less room, but then again like Steve has told me I don't have to sit in the back.

Well I wasn't impressed with it.

The car looks great in Photos and on The Tv but in person I just didn't do anything for me.

I like the style of the front, the head lights and the two in board looked great, but the rest of the car, with exception of the side windows, was just to bulky looking, need to go on a diet.

They happen to start the engine up when I was looking at it and the damn thing was ticking like it had a stuck lifter..LOL..

Maybe like the last style change this one will grow on me..maybe

Its fair to say the styling isn't for everyone but I like it. I five Ford points for not doing like GM and IMPORTING some rental car to have a hot rod to sell.

I also agree that waiting even a month will bring down the price. Preferably snag one on the cheap from someone who is going bankrupt paying for their newly bough 05.

The dealer here has one, a V-6 with NO PRICE on the sticker, salesman says they will discuss price inside, I told him to save his breath, if you don't put a price tag on it I'm not your sucker.
This dealer is notorious for the screwings they dish out.

As sort of a follow-up to my previous post:

I took a drive by the Annapolis dealer, and I saw the red one the girls talked about. I didn't stop in...just drove by on the street...it's a Redfire GT and it's in the showroom. So, guess it's a safe bet that that one isn't available for a test drive. Heh.

That's another good one...hmm...didn't think of that.

I thought of this...I fear it's gonna send this thread to the Men's Room though, so if anyone thinks it's too risque...I apologize...

What if I went back to the dealer, asked for her, and said "Can we go for a test drive? Then can I try the car?" I'd wear that hand imprint on my cheek like a badge of honor.

LOL. Well, no, not really...just that given my past history with those of the female persuasion...or should I say, lack of history...I'd almost take whatever physical contact I could get.

Anyway...back to the topic at hand...I gotta wonder if online inventories vs. what's actually at the dealer is even correct now. According to Fordvehicles.com, that dealership has 19 '05s (though I understand they could be on order or in transit to the dealership, and still show up online). But it doesn't show the red GT in their lineup. Odd.

They've got a V6 in Prince Frederick (red) and a yellow GT in Lexington Park (automatic). I love the looks of them. Waldorf is placing a $2k markup on them. Not sure about the others. Waldorf has 4 V6's and two GTs that are already spoken for. One was silver, other one was gone too fast to notice the color!
