The wife and I are proud parents of a NEW Mustang GT, 2005. This thing is awesome. Sounds great looks fantastic. Every where we go people stop and look at this awesome new machine. And by the way it's a screamer as well. Ford really did there homework on this one.

The color is black. Premium. Has the red leather interior. It only has the Shaker 500 audio system, 6 disc, cd player. 5 Speed. It has a upgraded interior design, which from what I'm being told will not be available till sometime around March or April. The 125 color change system on the dashboard is awesome. Just have to figure out how to play with the Red, Yellow, Green, configuration to make it work our way.

The wife let me do a quick take off the other day, and I left both tires buring, with a lot of traction control, and although I would not claim that it was close to a 1/4 mile, the car was up around 95mph, with ease, and a lot of room to spare.

Congrats! I drooled over one yesterday - the windviel (I think the color is) blue. Gorgeous even though it was a six. However, my hubby says I have to sell Anni (my '99) if I want one. Since I have no intention of getting rid of her, I guess I'm not getting an '05.

There is no real break in. Me and the salesman took a GT out this weekend and Burned them up good! but hate to say this but I was not all that impressed.I really liked the car. But it didn't have the power I was expecting. This was an Automatic but my Mav. will embarrass an 05 Auto up to about 100 mph then the Stang would be gone!
I tried to shift it myself but it acted very strange like the rev. limiter was coming on between shifts. It was better if I let it shift itself. But it shifted to early. I'm sure with some mods all of this can be corrected. The saleman said the Stick it much faster but he didn't have one for me to try.

When I lit the rear end up that time I still had the traction control on, there was some wheel spin but probably not as much as would be without traction control being on. The car has a 5 speed, and believe me, the rear end was fish tailing, and I was being pushed in the back seat by the force of the acceleration. Haven't driven a automatic, so I can say what the power is like, but the 5 speed is fantastic.

Several of the magazine road test articles I've read {Hemmings Muscle Machines and Mustang Monthly come to mind} have said how the '05 felt like it wasn't as fast as the '04, even though it actually was. They attribute it to the 3 valve head making the power more gradually than the previous 2 valve engines.

I have no doubt I will own one by the end of next year but I have to convince the wife to buy the stick! We already have decided that we want the dark blue one with silver racing stripes and the Torque D type wheels. The leather seats are real nice!!

We're fighting the urge, hard!

We stopped at Portsmouth Ford last night after hours and they had about 6-8 of them. About 3 GTs and 4 V6s. We just about fell in love with a Sonic Blue V6, and the cars look KILLER in Screaming yellow.

Pam wants a Sonic Blue one, and we just may have to pick one up in the spring.

I'm almost scared to talk to my friend who is a Ford dealer. I only have one more payment left on my 02 and I know if I talk to him, I'll have 3 more years of payments on an 05!
