I have been hearing rumors that when chevy does away with the camaro that ford is going to start competing against the dodge viper with the V10 powered silver bullet mustang. Does anyone have any pictures of this car or anything that proves this more than a rumor.

It's just a rumor...
Ford at this time doesn't have a chassis that will take the V-10 at a production line standard of finish. Much more, Ford is trying to save money much like it did in the 80's by having several cars use the same chassis (fox). The next mustang will be based off the Lincoln Ls/02 thunderbird chassis.

I don't know about a V10 Mustang but an article in the new Automobile mag. talks
about Ford's "Project Petunia". It's inspiration is taken form the GT-40 a favorite of design boss J. Mays. It will be
a mid engine on a new chassis, possibly using
some Lincoln LS DEW parts. I don't know if this is true or not but it sure sounds sweet! Oh, it also stated in the article that
it will be unveiled at the 2002 North American auto show.
