Just saw this forum, heard about a new mustang coming. Was wondering why the forum is called S197.

Thanks, Sam. I figured that's what it stood for, but I tell ya, when I first saw this new forum...just for an instant...I immediately thought of the Saleen Mustangs.

Kinda makes me wonder if Ford is purposely trying to make the designation "racier", what with the Saleen designations, and all the bow tie ones (ie, WS-6, LS-1, LT-1, Z06). I dunno...maybe I just need more sleep!

Hey Sam, what did you think about that Saleen? You going to add her to your stable?

Come on Sam!! If you stop eating, you'll lose weight and be able to go even faster!!!

And if you get so thin that you can't drive, I'd be happy to chofeur you around. Hell, I might even spring for a Happy Meal!!!

drooling wasn't my problem....see my response over there...

Have you looked at the S7 Saleen? Just a LITTLE out of my price range. But sweeeeeet.

I didn't realize that the S351 was up around $55k. Ouch. That S281 would have to fill the ticket. I wish they'd spell out what they do to the engine. They are calling a 0-60 of 5.2 seconds. Isn't the GT stock at 5.4? Must have modded the intake and added underdrive pulleys or something. What's the Cobra's 0-60 time?

The Cobra R's 0-60 is 4.9 seconds, per the Ford's SVT Experience web site: http://www.svtexperience.com/

The other topic in this forum has pics of the FR500, which is what the '93 is supposed to be based on.
