I have 75 mustang with a 302 v-8. If the rear end gears are 2.79 you can expect to get 14 mpg in town and 20 mpg highway. This bepends on your driving habits. I had changed the gears in mine to 3.50. My mpg around town went up but high way went down and at highway speeds the engine runs faster. If the car will see in town use more it is worth the gear change. Hope this helps,v-8 dont get great gas mileage.

Thanks at 92 pence per litre takes 3 to fill up roughly $80 bucks !!!!!Will use the car as a treat more than a daily drive so no gear changes couldn't afford it at that MPG ..... Thanks John hope I can be of help in the future regards Rob
