Hi. Today I found a '78 king cobra in a garage. It is black with orange stripes and orange interior. Also has T-Top,Cobra wheels and steering. Decent condition . How rare is such a car and is it worth much? Located in New-Brunswick, Canada. There's one on ebay right now that's in Panama City, FL. Black with tangerine interior and stripes. Looks pretty good in my opinion.

There were just under 5,000 King Cobras produced in 1978. Black is the most common color King. Which tranny does it have? Most were equipped with the 4-speed manual, but there are some out there with the automatic.Could be worth a couple grand if it's in decent running shape as well; offer the guy $100 to take "such an unwanted car off his hands" and see what he says. Hi Frank. The guy wants $1000.00 for it. The only problems to his opinion are a leaking t-top and a bad working carburetor. Would also need a paint, a fender and the front grille replaced but the seller supplies them. Also has a 302 with a 4 speed transmission. No parts were removed from the car. Very tempting, it would be a nice project. Rino

I suppose $1000 isn't too bad for it. Of course, talk him down some if you wanna go for it. Once the carb issue is resolved, and still runs strong, then that oughta be a prime candidate for a nice resto. No rust? ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"

Use your overall judgement. I gave a little less than that and I need in addition what you do are queater skins, fenders, and floor pans. If it is pretty solind besides that and pretty complete and as long as buck tag is still there then sound like a pretty decent deal. Dave
