Hello guys! Quick question for the MII ownersA friend of mine is selling me an RAD tranny that "supposedly" came in a 1978 Mustang II King Cobra. The only problem is the ID tag is missing...to make matters worse the 302 was later swapped for a 171 V6...that leads me to wonder....is there any way to identify if this is an 6cyl or 8cyl transmission???? Thanks, Alex

Alex, I have a v-8 Rad in the garage. I'm pretty sure the v6 and v8 use different input shafts. Measure the one you have from the case to the end of the input shaft and I'll check mine and see. Jon

Thanks! I'm probably going to see my friend on saturday then I'll let you know...the guys at MustangII.net said that the V8 & V6 input bearing shaft have different diameters, .669" & .595" respectively.Alex
