Has anyone put a Top Loader 4 Speed in their MII? I am considering going with a 351/4 or 5 speed combo. A TKO would be a good option, or a T56, but both are very expensive. I know a Top Loader would be able to stand up to the abuse of a built 351 and slicks. What would I have to modify to put one of these in?

I saw one once and talked to the owner, he said it was basically a beat to fit type thing and he had hella trouble running exhaust. This particular example was poorly done.

i was going to do the same swap but never got around to it but i done a little research
i beleive you can use lakewood bell housing for a 5.0L mustang for a toploader and maybe change clutch pedal to a 5.0L pedal and use 5.0 cable all this will require a little twaeking here and there but i think will work fine.a freind of mine runs a super stock mustang 2 and had a straight drive in it for years(now automatic (yuck) .he made mechanical linkage for clutch and used 60,s style clutch setup but he also used fenderwell headers, but i think you can still make maechanical linkage with header modifications.(i would try to use 5.0 setup for street though) just remember to use clutch for a 5.0
