I finally have the bugs worked out of the mechanicals of my Mach 1. Driving up and down my dirt road with no: Windsheild, hood, doors nose, bumpers, hatch, and spoiler has become too breezy Which panel should go on first? I was thinking start with the hatch, move to the doors, fenders hood, nose bumpers, spoiler (in that order). Your thoughts please.

Naked and free....

Put in the windshield. When it comes to the body panels, I'd look at doing the doors first. It makes it a lot easier getting the bolts tightened as well as aligning the door itself. Then I'd hang the hood and try to get it as straight as possible. Hang the fenders, align the hood and fenders and then put on the header panel. Rear hatch can be put on last.

Good luck with the project!

Thank you, sounds like a plan! I have two restoration projects lined up ahead of the II right now. I hope to finish the "brake job from hell" on my wives 97 Scort Wagon. (I could have sworn I bought that heap at the Ford dealer?????? It's Mazda-riffic! Pulling the front knuckle off tomorrow to have the bearing pressed out and a new one pressed back in. That should solve it's tire chewing camber problem! After that the Mark 7 will get new rear brakes again, and to think I wanted to put four wheel disc on the II, not after the Seven, forget it! When they are not squeeking their grinding! Painted drums are looking beter all the time.
