Okay guys and grrls,

What is the best repair manual for a novice with a desire to learn? Preferably for a '66 200 cid. Something with decent diagrams and instructions. I have been looking and can't seem to find anything for the 200. Is there nothing out there?

Thanks

A good place to start is with the Ford shop manuals. They are reprinting them now and have all the specifications, maintenance and adjustments that kept thousands of these things running back in the late 60's and 70's. These are the manuals that the garages had in the beginning.

Thanks for the website. Will spend some more time checking it out later tonight.

I have the factory shop manual CD. So far it seems to just be mostly parts lists but with no real direction. I am looking for something that can give me direction on how to do common repairs to the engine. I also have the restoration handbook (taylor) that seems good but does not have everything I need.

I can strip a computer and rebuild it but I have not had much experience with engines.

Thanks again

I noticed that NPD had the CD's versus the hardcopy. The hardcopy is the basic bible. I was wondering if anyone could comment on the differences between the hardcopy and the CD version.

I always thought the CDs were just the hardcopies in softcopy. Have you really hunted through that CD? The Ford manual is what you want. I've never picked up a CD, all my manuals are hardcopy, but they are the bibles of 'stangs.

I drilled down through the CD some more and found more info. I think I need to get a hard copy, the logic behind the cd is that I don't have to worry about ruining the manual. I have talked to the company that produces the cd and found that the restrictions that Ford puts on them is what keeps (in my opinion) the cd from being very helpful. It has no search capability which is the big thing I wanted.

Thanks again
Andy
